Take the World and Make it Yours Again

Well, the bettering-myself efforts are going well so far! I have a lot of work to do, and that's okay. But... so far, so good. Just trying to stay on the sunny side, which is always my downfall. I am a natural-born pessimist, and I would like to change how I see things. And here's a little inspiration so I can do just that!

(Who doesn't love Ron and Hermione? Aww, look at that face.)

(This handsomely grunge fellow, Jonny Lang, is coming to town, and I will be there! Amazing blues artist. I love how he looks like he's having a seizure during his intense solos.)

(When did Neville get so hot? Seriously, when? Came out of nowhere.)

(I love this quote from the Beatles.)

(Sigh... love. Eggs, we still need to watch The Vow.)

AMEN!

Here's hoping the bettering-myself efforts continue to go well, and remember...
Stay on the Sunny Side.

 Love, Hess

It DOES Start Now!

Well said, Eggs!

It ends tonight; we are going to change things now. NOW. We're going to eat healthy, stay active, and start having some self-control. It's time.

And OMG, how amazing was Sam last night?!??!!?

The Eric moment was a fantastic inspiration for both of us, I think. So let's do this thing!

It starts now...

So, there is this guy named Eric. and he never seems to disappoint everytime I see him. Unfortunately, I am disappointed in myself.
Don't get me wrong, the moment was perfect!

"Your hand is on my butt... I don't mind"

By complete fluke, we managed to come accross this stud on the way out of the show. I creeped on him in the dark and he didn't even mind.

--------------------

Now, I did get ahead of myself, but I thought I would start the blog with the highlite of the night!

The one thing I love about the Sam Roberts Band is that they always seem to introduce their fans to more awesome Canadian bands. Last night was no different with Michael Bernard Fitzgerald.

And just a random shot from Josh, the drummer from the SRB. Adorable.

#12 was magical. I have been blessed to see my favourite band as many times as I have and been able to bond with them on a level that most fans could never do with their fave artists.

As bad as it sounds, I want to lose weight to sleep with Eric from the band (or to just flirt the shit out of him). Stay single Eric, till we meet again.

I NEED TO START DOING SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE WITH MY LIFE.

Weddings

My aunt is getting married next month, and I went with her to the dress shop today. Holy crap expensive! I still stand by my position that I don't really ever want a wedding, but it was amazing to see the amount of time and work and emotion that goes into picking one.

I have a crush on this guy at my church named Adam. He's as close as I come to a groom at this particular moment in time. Only in my fantasy world, right Eggs?

But, just for fun, here are some pictures of how I might like my wedding dress to look. You know- if there is ever actually a wedding. Because I don't really want one. ;)

(This one is almost perfect. I love the back, the empire waist, and the undone hair with that hippie headband. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.)

(I like the flowy-ness of these, and I love the ribbon around the waist.)

(Lovely bridesmaids dresses! I like that they look like sundresses and not at all formal. Plus the wedding gown is just beautiful... lots of lace = love.)

(Love both these dresses!! And the colour of the left one is what I'd like for my bridesmaids.)

(I love the wreath on the head. And the cut of this one is lovely.)

(Aww to the quote. LOVE to the dress. And the hair, but it's still a little too "done" for me.)

Yeehaaaaaaw!

Eggs is off to the Calgary Stampede tomorrow! Quick day trip and back to work Friday!

All for Garth...

And some cowboys...

Lemonade..(like 10)

A walk down the midway...

And possibly a taco in a bag.

Hoping not to sweat to death but I will work on my tan, which is never ending...

You know how Eggs is with manly men and this place will be crawling in cowboys.. details to follow.

Smile!

I'm really trying to work on being more positive this year, so here's something to ease the heatwave and make me (and you!) smile...

(I love this movie.)

(Yum!)

(Faramir is such a catch. So kind-spirited, yet so masculine. Sigh, I am such a Lord of the Rings geek. Plus, I'm a sucker for facial hair.)

Happy Monday! Spread the love!

Eggs is home!

HOME SWEET HOME

6 days is almost too long to be in Grande Prairie. It was good times though, lots of laughs, some tears and reconnecting with some family friends I haven't seen since my brother's funeral. It was long overdue for sure.

I am home for one night and off to Sylvan tomorrow with Hess for the big birthday! Beer, beach and sun. Crossing my fingers for awesome weather! It looks like Friday is our question mark but Saturday should be spectacular! This is much needed!

Now to go pack for another roadie!

Eggs out

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yep, I will be 25 years old tomorrow. Sigh. No use getting into what I've accomplished or not accomplished so far... I'm determined to stay positive this year. (That's right- my birthday is always my own personal New Year's, and my resolution is to remain positive from now on.)

So, on the bright side, me and Eggs are going to the beach this weekend to ring in the BDay! Should be a fun time, if the weather stays on our side.

Happy Birthday, Self!

Weight Loss

I realized something this weekend. Having a goal isn't so much about what you want; it's about saying no to what you want in order to get something that you want more. So... losing weight is simply an ongoing battle of saying no when you want to say yes, and saying yes when you want to say no. You know?

I also realized that going to see the fireworks is the perfect time to remind yourself that you're lonely.

Happy Belated Canada Day!
